Top Commentator reward ! 28 “Yi Fah”
A ‘Yi Fah’ 28 for my top commentators at the end of this month, July 2007 !
It takes a lot of time, commitment to become a top commentator in people’s blog. I know all of you, my readers, wish there are 48hours a day because it seems there is less time than things to do within the 24hours a day time span.
With that in mind, I wanted to thank my reader who had made the most comments on my new Seaykopitiam’s blog by the end of this month, July 2007.
The closing date time is July 31st,2007 12midnite US Eastern time zone.
The reward is US$28 which will be credited to your paypal account on August 1st, 2007.
Ya, you might wonder why I choose 28 ? 8s is a lucky number for the Chinese.
According to Wikepedia, a small lesson on Numbers in Chinese : “Numbers and their perceived qualities
1 – 一
2 – 二 – easy
3 – 三 – live
4 – 四 – considered a bad omen, since 4 in the Chinese and the overall Buddhist worldviews, refers to the fourth stage of human existence: death (死). Historically, 4 is considered lucky in regions of China where its pronunciation is closer to 事 instead.
5 – 五 – the self, me, myself, nothing
6 – 六 – easy and smooth
7 – 七 – together
8 – 八 – sudden fortune
9 – 九 – “long” in reference to time”
In Cantonese, ‘28′ is ‘Yi Fah’, meaning get rich and wealth easily.
I am a Christian first and Chinese second, so I like 7 more than 8
. God created heaven and the earth in 7days
.
But, just because I am a Christian does not mean I am not a fun person
. I like to have funs with my readers so I am wishing my top commentator’s reader a 28 (“Yi Fah”) from me
.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart !

lol eh jamy, like that i spam spam can win ah?
why only give 28, give 88 la
fatt fatt !! yay !
38, might be the next one.
Cannot spam spam one lah, have to write something one lah
So is ‘38′ means ‘live rich’? and not ’sampat’(crazy, gila)? hahahaha..
Ya, have to check it out.
But remember “8 poh”, it means crazy or gila woman. I think the “8″ also mean gila
Wow that’s a nice and different concept
I know people do give rewards but keeping the prize $ 28 looks slightly different than others.
“Historically, 4 is considered lucky in regions of China where its pronunciation is closer to 事 instead.”
I apologise for my “multiliguist” knowledge of chinese characters, but what’s the squigly line character there? And how is it pronounced?
*Banana Cirnelle*
“When it is pronounce as “事”" meaning when it is pronounce as event
In Chinese character, there are 4 different unique tune for a same word ‘pe pa me fa’ so a word can mean quite differently depend on which tune you pronounce.
It is alright, Cirnelle, I love to eat Banana, especially “green teeth”.
Lot of potassium, sometimes I eat too much my electrolyte also unbalance a bit, that is why you see me so “pat poh”
Mayank,

Thank you for your kind word.
I am a bit eccentric as you probably had notice in my posts
I remembered wearing 1 red stocking and 1 yellow stocking to my lecture when I was like your age
With that in mind, I am going to give you an unique review, no one who read the post will ever forget till their death bed
Let me list down all the questions I want you to answer then I will send u an email , deal ?

May be next month i will compete for 82$..
I think the match maker bait works
Wow Jamy,
I didn’t know that 7 was a lucky number for the Christian until recently, when people crazy getting married on 07/07/07. However, my MIL insisted that is not a lucky number in their culture. I’m so blur now don’t know who to believe. Anyway, they are all very surprised and now telling everybody how we are crazy about the number “8″. In Malaysia people pay to get the license plate with the more “8″ the higher price. So my wedding car has 88 and they quickly thought I used that car bcos I like “88″.
“28″ and “88″ to you Jamy!!
I’m in the running for Top Commentator!
Scary man, I thought I reserver this “Yi Fah” for my little Cinelle’s daughter for a small present from Aunty Jamy. Looks like you gonna receive it from Aunty Jamy
