If you look at Technorati - one of the largest tracker for blogs, there are currently more than 94 million blogs out there with 40,000 new ones being added everyday. There are many types of blogs, some can be a simple personal diary and some can be blogs that are informative to readers. And while we hear a lot about blogging these days, you might be interested to start a blog on your own. So what should be your reasons to start a blog today?.
1. You have something to say.
If you’re someone who likes to discuss the issues, blogs can help others see your point of view. Once you build up traffic, discussions among like-minded bloggers and blog readers will ensue.
2. You have something to share.
If you are an expert on certain topics, a blog is a great medium for you to share your expertise. You can start a blog today and offer tips and advice to others.
3. Your blog is great medium of advertisement.
Blogs can be a great venue for advertising because of the potential for the community to achieve a massive number of participants. It is also a cost effective advertising platform.
4. You can earn money from blogging.
Blogging is a good way to open up a second source of income, although the money is more likely to come not from the blog itself, but because of it.
5. Blogs allow you to stay in touch with your friends, relatives, subscribers and clients.
Family blogs are a great way to keep in touch. Not only can you publish family newsletters through your blog, but everyone can keep in touch via the comments.
6. It is a great way to polish your creativity.
If you are a wannabe writer, blogging is the perfect way to test if you are any good at it, record your research and notes for your book, and convince a publisher to give you a book deal.

I started off on 2., then I went on to 4. But, I realized I enjoy 5. the most.
But, I enjoy blogging. I am trying on a strategy that prevent me from becoming a blogrob :). Robot in blogging
For me, I blog for pleasure. And to be known. Haha!
Yes, I agree. Every bloggers should begin with a vivid thought in their head before begin their first post.
That will really help them in a long run.
Blogging is a great way to boost my knowledge, creativity and connect with people and share things. And earn some money as well
Nice article there.
Well, I started my blogging with a personal blog but later on I found the potential in it and switched to problogging
Great post….It will be interactive for sure
I started my blog with the reason 2. I just love knitting TOO MUCH. Then under Jamy’s good influence, I started to use my blog to make some pocket money. I am interested in knowing more about pro-blogging, and I am taking my baby feet one step by one step! I actually PM you Jamy in CHL days ago about some blogging questions, maybe you din’t see it? =)
By the way, your blog is very informative! Good job gal!
Ken, Chee Kui, Shankar, Mayank,
In the 70’s, Taiwanese Shou Lin Movies were very popular. The story always went like this. There were many many different master groups. Every master group wanted to be the master of the master group, they will fight and the winner will run the Shou Lin World (which even topple the empire).
There was always this last exciting scene where all those masters appeared (either in the jungle or an Inn). Tthe olden version of the Shou Lin Master can even fly :, they flew from one tree to the other. I loveed the final scene because there would be lots of fighting and that is the part where you finally saw some of the masters who had never revealed their true identity till that last scene.
See I told you I am not normal, I did not read romance or love stories but Kung Fu’s movie.
I believe a geek and nerd is born from the 1st day , ha ha ha ha ha.
I love it when all you guys appear on this post and commented. I am waiting for Mr Ben Master to appear and comment !
When I first read all your comments, I laughed out so loud because you guys reminded me of all these masters from the Shou Lin Kung Fu movies :), so very cool !!!!!!!!!!!!!
But in this e-age, the Shou Lin Masters are the tech gurus like all of you.
Chee Ku the owner of the little dirty secret.
Mayank the blog owner of Techie Dino.
Shankar the blog owner of Shankar Ganesh Blog who blog about the blog and web.
Ken the blog owner of My-Site-Advisor.
How cool can that be ? Might be one day we can join force and form a conglomerate andl conquer the blog world , might be then Ah Bill will come to the kopitiam and have coffee with us, ha ha ha ha ha.
Thanks guys !
Check out this Shou Lin Kung Fu picture, ha ha ha ha.

Hi Kitman,
Thank you for dropping by and commented.
You are a very brave girl :). You are the only lady who commented on this post :).
Wow, you really know how to give me big hat :):).
I have replied your email. So check it out.
Don’t worry Kitman, you will learn slowly.
Drop by often and you will learn more.
Love
Jamy
Actually, I start my posts with an empty piece of cyber paper and no ideas whatsoever. I describe my immediate surroundings or what transpired, just to get the momentum going. Then, my fingers take over…
Hmm, i started this blog because i want to share my opinions …and to learn from other people. So far, i’ve no regret. From blogging, i get to know people like Cirnelle, Jamy, etc etc who have taught me a lot of stuff (even though it’s just by sharing their opinions).
But well, i need some inspirations b4 i can write something
In fact, I am quite flattered by a lot of remarks from you guys !
Many of you knew that I achieved many success and tasted many failures in 45 years earthly life. I made my 1st million at 35, gone burst at 38, brought a new franchise to a record sales record within a short span of 2yrs, named the woman behind the fastest growing center in Asia within that particular franchise brand, had a stroke and a heart attack, married a very nice husband who has very good family background, gave birth to a baby boy at 42 which had changed my life priority 360 degree, made a fair bit of of money on gold investment the last few years.
At times, I looked out at my studies window and wondered what else do I want to achieve ? I realized money does not bring me a whole lot of satisfaction than when I did not have much, I am too lazy to go to who-and-who parties in town , I realized in fact I am subconsciously building a mentoring brand. I get excited and felt such a sense of fulfillment when I receive email like this :”I love the confidence you always have within yourself. You are a very good role model to everyone of us. Not to give you a TALL HAT or what, I really mean it sincerely.”
This might be my 2nd phase of my career life…
Cirnelle,
There is only 1 word that describe you well, philosopher, ha ha ha ha.
I often lost in your post because you use too “dalam” (profound) English words :):),
Which surprises me to no end why anyone would even bother trying to read, let alone understand what I write.
I like to be challenged, so I go back many times to make sure I understand after many read.
But it has became an addiction
Blogging is for fun, expressing your thoughts, to gain knowledge, to be creative, be an expert
Hi Praveen,
Thank you for dropping by and made a comment.
Yes, blogging should be fun.
This is only my 2cents opinion, anyone who set out to make money in blogging will not enjoy as much as those people who set out to blog as having a hobby or even a sport.
I love this the most : “creative”.
No one can take this away from you - creativity :). You don’t even have to go through US department of trademark
because copy cats will be confused by you because they will not know what are you going to come up with the next day. The closest they can do is 1 day late, never JIT (just in time) as most manufacturing operation model :):).
simple but quality, thanks!
