Reinvestment is one of my favorite business models and one which I believe very strongly in. So, here I am doing the thing that I believe very strongly. I am putting some of the money that I earned from my blogs back into my blogs and back to you, my readers and my networks. Remember my post on “How I turn my blogs into an ATM”, HERE.

Darren’s project on “31days to building a better blog” (here) has received such a good outcome, I thought I would come up with a similar idea , so I set up this blog contest on “Your Blogging Journey”. Of course if I can get half the number that Darren gets, I would be very very happy because I am an unknown blogger in the blogosphere. Darren is an icon of the blogosphere.

So all the best and I look forward to read your post. Please spread the words around about the contest. Thank you for your kindness in advance.

  1. Hmmmm… 100 to 150 words. Ok, I think I can do that. Wah… so long still. Procrastinate a bit.

  2. jamy very smart lady. hahha. with just rm100+, you can redirect a lot of traffic to your blog ;)

smart move. :P but i reckon that if you add another 100…to rm200, you can x2 or x3 the amount of response. ;)

may the best fella win this!

p/s… don’t think i wanna write. ahhaha. coz i m like Cirnelle, too long-winded…sure talk too much 1.

  3. Alvin,

Not all about money lah. “but i reckon that if you add another 100…to rm200, you can x2 or x3 the amount of response.”

Money could be an incentive but I don’t think that is the bottom line. If that is that is too bad. I think that is a good topics to write, write something about a person blogging journey. What one encounter might not necessary be what others encounter. So it is like an exchange of information.
You would be surprised to see it is not me who get traffic, it is reciprocal.
    It is linking both ways.

You can write more if you want “100-150words or more.” And you are writing on your blog anyway and put your url on this blog comment.

It is up to individual but I don’t think money should not be the main reason someone write about this topics. It is like any post where you write what you think about this topic. You are writing a good post on your own blog and linking it here only. You are not writing on this blog.

One of the reasons that I only use US$38 and not US$88 or US$888 is my strategy also. If people only come to this blog just for money, than that would not last too long. I might caused a big surge of traffic in a short times but could it sustain over times without money ? To me , I am blogging for a long haul, not just for today, this week or next few months. It is a long term investment. Like my gold investment, I don’t buy it today and hope it will go up in 1 month (if that happen, that is a bonus) but I am looking at 5-10yrs or even a bit more. So, the same kind of investment strategy apply for my blogging as well. Start small but aim big.

When I wrote about Kuanhoong review (US$100). I told him privately that I would not want any $, I would donate the $ if I do get it to charity, like the $28 like cirnelle gotten during the top commentators contest (which I have not found an appropriate one yet).

I write Kuanhoong review not with any money reward in mind but I want to write what I really think of kuanhoong and his blog. An honest and well thought review.

So I focus on what I know about him over the number of months we interacted on the internet and why readers should read Kuanhoong post and etc.

In the past, I also participate in writing meme, you don’t even get any $ reward writing meme but you got to learn about other bloggers quite a fair bit and that is how I know quite a lot of bloggers through meme.

Blog contest is a bit like meme except you might get some money. And if you read at Kuahoong review , you will read him linking each of the review as he got them. In fact, it is quite an exposure for people who are new and wanted to get some exposure. But for older blogger, I think it is a good way that they can contribute to the new blogger community. When the new bloggers read it, they said wow, I did not know he/she encountered these problem, I am glad that I am not the only one who encountered that.

That is why I love open system s/w (open office), it is co develop by a whole bunch of techies :):).

Do whatever you think fit. But I would encourage you to write, but don’t write just for the money, write an honest post , a post that will bring tears, laughters to yourself thinking back how you started and where you are now. You can have wider exposure by posting an article on Darren blog than mine but I think whatever we do, there are more than just “I” or “me”, just imagine how many newbies can be benefited from this kind of posts ? Old old bies can impart a lot of wisdom to old bies and old bies to middle bies and middle bies to young bies :):). (if there is such term, ha ha ha ).

  7. I don’t mind writing about it. Just at the moment, I can’t seem to find any reason why it should link to the “tips about blogging” or “tips about retirement” bit…. it’ll sound kinda like selling. Can bend some rules a bit ah?

  8. Sure, Cirnelle, if you don’t feel like link to the “tips about blogging”, just write a post on the topics. I will link it to your post. In that way, everyone can benefit from the post about your blogging journey.

  9. Cool, I would love to participate as I like your blog, so it’ll be fun to write the post :)

  10. […] sentence, it should be quite obvious to you which road I finally took at that crossroad in my blogging journey. But I figured, it won’t hurt to start anew, give myself a fresh new look. I tend to get […]

  11. Done!

  12. everyone gets USD38 or only the winner?

  13. The winner lah, Zewt.
Might be next month, I think of something that everyone can get.
