AskKen Corner – To Guest Blog or Not
After a short time of blogging (for blogger who just start their first month), you must have heard about ‘Guest Blogging’ in the blogosphere. Guest blogging is an activities to blog your post at other’s blog.
Usually it’s by invitation from your friends or an open-guestblogging like what I’ve held yesterday.
You can actually ask people who willing to blog their post at your blog for some reason. Usually the reason is like going on vacation for 1 week, or having an emergency meeting in the jungle so you couldn’t blog there.
It’s very nice because beside you can keep your blog up and alive while you are in vacation, and you can build relationship with the guest blogger.
But, please don’t jumping happy first. I recently stumbled on a post that actually offending this activities. I want to share it with you and need to hear opinions from you about it.

I disagree with 45n5: You Guest Blogging is wasting my time!.
I wish the comment column still open so I can post my opinion, sigh.
I notice more readers subscribed to my feed after you and Kuanhoong wrote. I believe you and Kuanhoong provide values to the readers because you guys are so much more experienced than me in blogging.
But, one thing I agree with Darren so much is that every guess speaker bring in a different perspective :”hearing things from a slightly different perspective in a different voice.”
I think we all have our strength and weaknesses and we can share among ourselves our strength.
For eg. I can write for someone a post on :
1. 10 tips on how to turn $100 to $150,000 in your retirement funds within 2 years using my own experience and steps that I have taken.
and someone can guess write for me on (for eg. you or Mayank or one of your tech guru fellow)
1. 10 tips of getting your Alexa rank from 2.8million to under 100k within 6months. (from your experience because you guys have done it).
I believe the power of synergy and a lot of people don’t have that kind of mentality. To me it is a shame. I could be very subjective to make such a judgmental comment but I do believe usually people who are visionaries tends to understand the power of synergy more so than not.
i don think guest blogging is wasting ppl’s time. it will be, if u don select the guest blogger carefully. some ppl will jz post crappy stuff u know.
if you get the right guest blogger, then i don see a problem. it’ll actually make your blog better n more interesting
Personally, I don’t think guest blogging is bad.
Resourceful guest bloggers can really make your blog more better.

it’s when bloggers leave for a week and try and fill a blog with guest posts that is the biggest turn off, one or two randomly is bearable.
