Well, today I am starting a series of my proud American journey story series.
There are milestones in my life which I term significant and memorable :
My old life :
My young adult life :
1. When I first learned the meaning of death , the death of my great grandmother who was a patriarch of the LIM family.
2. The death of my maternal grand mother.

24. My going back to a student life.
My new life :
16. The renouncing of my Malaysian citizenship and my allegiance to the America as a citizen of America.
17. The first time in my life I am going to vote.
While waiting at the waiting room to be ushered to the court room to take my oath to be American citizen.
47 of us from 23 different countries : From Australia, Canada, England, Sudan, Indian, Vietnam, China, Malaysia and …
All of us glanced at our family members who sat at the back bench who witnessed the oath taking ceremony with us.
Me with my proud American husband.
All in all it took me less than 30days from filing to taking the oath.

Congratulations!!! You’re now an American.
Sad to note that a brilliant Malaysian now have to be called as “ex-Malaysian”….
Anyway, the start of a new life.
Have been American for a while. But it took a while for the oath taking part to take place.
Me sad too, not the brilliant part lah but the part about my total loyalty, sigh, like a marriage – no more flirting with ex-boy friend (s)
:).
Congrats Jamy,
I’m happy for you but sad for Malaysia at the same time. What a milestone of your life. I’m glad you found a country that you are proud to be the citizen. I have not yet found the same feeling with France.
Hmm.. reading your post I suddenly feel that my life from my schooling till now was boring..
You have a wonderful life actually..
I agreed with Angie too, a brilliant Malaysian say good bye to Malaysia.. sad..
BE, I think you will. Give France some times to develop that feeling.
Keeyit,
.
Smooth life is good, you don’t want too much storms in your life.
Hmmm… thank you for your berhormat toward me. Hope I can live up to that standard
congratz!
mm, cannot say life is boring. i think as long as u r enjoying what u r doing and are content with what you have……. it’s not boring at all.
and then, challenge yourself to some new things from time to time
try out zillions of unexplored things out there
Yes, Alvin, you are right : “i think as long as u r enjoying what u r doing and are content with what you have……. it’s not boring at all”
Hmmm… I wonder if that is appropriate ? “try out zillions of unexplored things out there.”
Unexplored things out there ? There are many dangerous things out there. I won’t do that if I were you !
I think what is appropriate is if you want to do something, set goals to achieve it.
Say for eg. if always have a dream to go to visit US, then you can plan getting to US by setting realistic goal or if you plan to sail round the world, then you plan and might be in 5 years or so, you will achieve your dream. Likewise if you plan to get marry, then you plan and set out to get your woman and man , wink wink
.
I’ve never been out of malaysia before and to read that you have been wondering around is indeed a motivation for me to do so.
all the best for you in whatever you do.

And end up in the most unimaginable place on earth. Never have thought I would end up in US, the most unthinkable in my imaginary
Never would have thought I would leave my beautiful island – Borneo… I suppose I can settle for sub topics : Florida
You got a nice blog there.
Jamy

Thanks.
I have added you in my friend list on my page.
Hi there Jamy,
I am not sure if you still remember me..but I’d like to drop a comment anyhow.
Reading those vital milestones in your life, I think having your 1st million at 35 then two years later at the verge of bankcrupty, is really an extremely challenging encounter. If I were in your shoe, I am not sure if I can deal with it ..
Congratulation on being a new member of one of the great nations on earth, and wish you all the best forever and ever.
I will keep track of your blogs especially on the tips of investments. Once again, I can surely learn a lot of things.
Yes, I do, thanks for dropping by and leave a comment.
Yes, it sure was a challenge encounter. However, the experience left me with very good lesson which I appreciate greatly in life.
One of the lessons that I become my investment success factor later in life is diversify !
It sounds so simple but it is the most important ingredient of investing !
My friend Rachael sent your letter & link to me.
How exciting that you have become a U.S. citizen! Congratulations.
I’ve often wondered if the US-born would live as better citizens & value all that citizenship means if they were required to complete & meet the same standards required of those seeking citizenship.
Would they be more willing to work for the good of our country? Would it be more important for them to learn (& teach their children) about our history with the struggle for the freedoms we have? Would they value those freedoms & work to keep them rather than sleeping through the changes brought about by our courts & governments? Would they educate themselved about current issues & standards of those seeking office then VOTE – perhaps even campaign for those people/issues that they truely believed in? Would they pray every day for those leading, judging & defending our country? Would they be willing to die fighting for our freedoms in the ongoing battle against terrorism?
It would be easy to go on and on in this vein.
I thank God for His promises in 2 Chr 7:14 and remember that our struggle is not against flesh and blood. The battle is the Lord’s. We are His warriors.
Blessings,
Patti
Thanks Patti for dropping by and comment.
Yes, one of my classmates told me I know more a lot American history than a lot of nature born America and more patriotic.
The Lord has been wonderful to me that HE should bring me to settle to this land, a wonderful God fearing husband and a healthy son who we love so dearly.
Thanks again for your kind words.
Jamy
