A new year that I will never forget.
I went to new year eve night watch with my one of my child hood girlfriends and later on her aunt who I have became good friend invited me to join them for drinks (for your information those are ladies who are in their late 60’s
:), I think I should say aunty friends
:)). Though they are of golden age, they are very active and funs. All very active in the church golden age club. In fact, we went to one of the girls ( I think the oldest of them
) home to chit chat and eat (of course, what other things do Kuchingnian do ?
). She was very excited to give us one of the liqueur drink she bought from Labuan ( a federal tax free island in Malaysia). I don’t drink a lot, a little alcohol will give me that tipsy feelings. So, I slept well that night
.
At the break of dawn, the house’s phone ring, I knew it’s must be bad news. My mom did not know what the person over the phone said, I asked her to pass the phone to me. The person politely told me that Mr Chan had passed away in his sleep. Yes, dad passed on Jan 1st 2008, sigh. I will write more when I can. I think we all grieve differently, sigh.
