The worst investment of your life : Divorce (1).
It does not take a rocket science to notice that I have change my blog considerably. I have used a new wordpress theme, a new header, and even a new focus.
I decided that investment is going to be the niche theme of this blog. I strongly believe all of us in some way or another do investment every day in our life. Some of us invest our life being a coach potato, some of us invest our life being a professional football, some of us invest our life in making a difference in other people life. And whatever it is, we all invest in something every minute of our life.

There are different kind of investment that you can invest in your life, some bankrupt you, some enrich you. I personally believe one of the worst investments you want to invest in is DIVORCE.
Why 1 ?
According to Kevin McDonald’d article about the cost of a divorce, it is not surprising that divorce can cost you an arm and a leg.
Most lawyers charge an hourly rate, so expect to pay between $100 and $450 an hour, says Jan Warner of Columbia, S.C., a divorce attorney for 30 years. Some lawyers may charge as little as $75 an hour, according to maritalstatus.com, with an up-front retainer of $500 to $10,000. A divorce can ended up costing you $25,000 in legal and court fees and not neglecting all the stresses that are involved.
Why 2 ?
Don’t you think you can use the $25,000 in a better way than paying the divorce lawyer. Might be you can use the $25,000 in a more profitable way such as buying gold stocks that are under the 200 moving average, for eg. Minera Andres Inc. ?

3. Why 3
According to Social Readjustment Rating Scale (SRRS) which serve as an instrument based on the premise that good and bad events in one’s life can increase stress levels and make one more susceptible to illness and mental health problems (Holmes & Rahe, 1967).
Divorce ranked the second highest score after death of a spouse.
Assessment:
1. Death of a spouse 100
2. Divorce 73
3. Marital Separation 65
4. Jail term 63
5. Death of a close family member 63
6. Personal injury or illness 53
and the rest you can read them for yourself.
The other spectrum would be a functioning marriage which is your best investment in life, and we can find that consistent pattern in some of the world richest men such as Warren Buffet and Bill Gates.
Having say that, I like to write another post about the best investment of your life : a functioning marriage in my part II series. So stay tune…

I know that divorce is not good. My parents are a great example of making a good investment. They have had lots of bumps in thier marriage but have stuck with eachother. Over time I am seeing how much they are loving eachother even when they do not see eye to eye.
Yes, in life, we can agree to disagree. Too many people live a life to make sure other people see the way they see. These kind of people have never developed their abstract part of their mind.
It’s sad the divorce rate in this country is so high. I believe that those who decided to get married would never thought it would end up in a divorce. People change too easily for selfish reasons.
I know of someone who helped her ex-husband to build up his law firm. They had no kids together. After 26 years, he decided to divorce her. She spent more than $300,000 on a legal battle with her attorney ex-husband to get her share of the property and business.
A few year of emotional and mental agonies were involved besides the money spent.
Jesie,
, likewise marriage (spouse), abortion (thrash baby when he/she comes in the wrong times or out of norms).
. No child support !
We lives in a disposable society
This is what I have set in my will. All my assets will go to Christian organization if my son divorce, period ! If he is smart, he stay marries

Reading over this posts really makes me think of an article that I found that talks about the effects of divorce on children. http://www.justmommies.com/articles/children-and-divorce.shtml
Really shed some light on the situation and the physical strain and toll that it can take, especially on the kids.
Yes, nightwind, it is real bad if you study child mental health in America, 10-12% of the people here have mental illness and I believe most of it resulted as a break down of the family unit/structure in America. It is sad, but it is a fact.
