A $10million joke between a couple.

We are contemplating of buying our second home but we are not very sure where exactly we want to buy. But, we have been working with one of my friends dad who is a Realtor and I also look up some myself.

A few days ago, I send my husband a couple listings. And on the emails, I asked him what he thought about the listings. He said they were nice, , especially the one with pool. I said yes, it is really nice, especially the one with pool but I am not really into pool because I think it will cost too much to maintain . He wrote back and said I think you might be right especially it is such a magnificent pool. I said yes, I thought so too.

When he got home from work, he said to me that he was very surprised that I would consider buying a house worth $10million. I said ‘10million, what are you talking about, it is about 1/4million.’

And we both login into our gmail and he showed me the email I sent him.

This is the house listing he received from me.

  1. Wow, what a huge different! The house you like looks very good too. Just imagine you sipping your tea on the patio and watching you husband and JJ playing in the pool. Nice ah.

  2. BE,
I like the landscape but I do not like pool. Now we have a community pool near our club house in where we live. We seldom make use of it cos we are not too outdoor person. Water calm me but I was never a water kind of person.
In fact, there is another house which I really like as well. The house located next to the lake and the deck overlook the lake. This is the url

    Nice right ? :)

  3. Yes the view outdoor is breathtaking. But indoor I would do some renovation. Kitchen looks nice. Gosh and the price is totally affordable!

  4. Yes, the outdoor scene is nice, isn’t it ? :). I have always wanted a house near a lake, or the beach or the harbor.

It’s way expensive in Sydney to have a home like this. But, it is possible here. It is only about 30mins drive from where hubby works.

Yes, if we decide to buy this home, I will tear off the carpet and tile the living/bath room, woodfloor on bedrooms and most likely tore off the kitchen and redo the entire kitchen.

If you notice, this house does not have too much landscaping, the other house landscaping is just excellent.

We have not seen the house in real life so we cannot make too much judgment yet :). Hubby went to RE realtor today and he looked at about 20 houses in our town :). I will update you. We do not intent to move till year end. It is a buyer market right now, very good for us.

  5. LOL, nice house with a price that kills. I would also quesion why you would want to buy a $10 million home. Good thing it was a mistake. The government will be happy to collect at least $24,000 per year as property tax for a $10 million home depending on its location.

The $1/4 mil home looks great. I love to swim but a swimming pool is a happy nuisance where you have to pay more for liability insurance. It will be shady and cool in summer as there are so many trees. A lot of oxygen too.
