My take on couponing is the same as sales. A lot of people go to buy stuffs on sales because they wanted to get cheap stuffs (SALES, right ?) but they end up getting a lot of junks. I lived in many countries throughout my life time, Australia (for most part of my teenage life to early adult life), Malaysia, Brunei and traveled and lived in a lot of countries : New Zealand, Switzerland, Ireland, Scotland, Italy, France, Eygpt, Jodan, Hong Kong, China and many other but I have never seen a country with as many yard sales and storage facilities as U.S.A. It is no wonder our country is in so much debts now. We are shopping junkies. So as much as I am very into coupon but I like you not to buy stuffs for the sake of coupons. Use coupons to maximize your monthly budget.

Coupon is like a 2edge sword, it can ruin your budget or it can help you to save a whole bunch of $.

I see couponing as a very creative investment tool.

This is a simple eg. I like to quote :

Say a person bring in $50k a year on his /her salary and he/she spend 20% of his/her income on household items and 20% on mortgage , 5% on tax, 5% on health insurance, 10% on charity, 40% on investment (20% on investing on business, 20% on stocks/bonds)

20% of 50k is $10k.

If a person can acquire the skill that jane4girl has : http://jane4girls800dollarannualbudget.blogspot.com/
She spend $800 per year (the last 5years) on all household items for a household of 4.

$10k-$800=$9200

Which is 18.4% of 50k.

If this person consistently do it for 5 years, that is $46k and I am sure that is more than 20% of a $200,000 house and it is quite a good size of down payment for a $200k house. And if that person consistently have the same income and the same budget, the $9200 annual saving is a very good source for mortgage payment for a $200k home.

Once you do couponing for a while, you will get the hang of it and you will never buy any product full price because you can get every kind of manufacturer coupon out there. I have just put this resource in my web site and if you are interested, go to my web site header and you see coupon , go click on it, there are a whole bunch of manufacturer coupons where you can print online. To save your time, just click HERE.

Essential stuffs like cereals, shampoo, tooth paste/brush, shavers, deodorants, diapers, bathroom tissues, paper towels , you can stock pile them with coupons when you see good deals.

For eg, this week Walgreens have General Mills’ cereals for $1.99 and if you print a 55cents or $1 , you can stock pile 2-4 packets.
If you notice, I have put up a Print your own coupon on my web sites. The site is powered by coupons.com and if you find anything that you think you need it at CVS or Walgreens and if you can find it on the site then it make your life easy than cutting newspaper coupons.

The other good site to print coupons that I listed on my site here is : Smart source. In fact, most newspaper has smart source coupons insert on Sunday.
