I saved 90%+ @ Publix again !

By Jamy

Prior coupon days, I had never walked out of publix with less than $30. I used to think I was a smart shopper as I home cooked most of my meals and had never bought any frozen food and when I looked at shoppers who had whole cart full of frozen food and paying like $100+ , I thought how unwise they were. Well, I was wrong then. Now as I am getting better and better on my coupon skill. This is what I got for less than $6 today.

8. Onion $0.58
9. Banana $0.73

Total before coupons = $26.43
Total after coupons = $5.33

Yepee, no tax with food, great !

Before buy 1 get 1 free , the cost of the food is
(26.43×2)+($3.49×2, this is the cost of smart balance stick which I got them for free with coupons) + $0.58+$0.73(filler) = $61.15

Total saved = 91%

Is that amazing ? Well, if you think that is amazing , check out for my next 2 posts, you will be even amazed.

Ps : You wonder why I add on filler ? Well, if you notice I used 18 coupons for 16 of my buy 1 get 1 free items, to save all the hazzles & buzzles, I just put 2 cheap items which my household use so the cashier machine would not beep on me and my shopping trip is smooth and easy. In the beginning of my coupon life, I got very frustrated when the machine beeped. And to made matter worst if you had a long line of people waiting for you to scan the coupons. Have you ever felt like you were doing something really bad or wrong ? I had, not anymore because now I did all my maths at night before I went shopping, my coupons clipped on all the items I wanted to buy. I even knew exactly including tax on how much I would pay on each trip. Cheap items as fillers are excellent way of making your coupon shopping smooth like jazz if you have more coupons than items.

So how do you do this week @ Publix ?
