Cheap cereals, coffee and butter @ Publix 7/23 – 7/29

By Jamy

For all my readers, now when I post, I will specify a date that the sales last, so you would not go read old sales that are expired !
And please subscribe to my blog if you wish to have updates on sales that I have posted whenever I can. Bear with me as I have a full time job :)

This is a scenario I have created that you might enjoy a cheap breakfast for this week.

At Publix this week 7/23 – 7/29 :
1. Kellogg’s Cereal, Assorted Varieties, Frosted Mini-Wheats, 14.5 to 20.4-oz box or Unfrosted Mini-Wheats, 18-oz box BOGO $3.89
2. Eight O’ Clock Coffee, Assorted Varieties, 11.5 or 12-oz bag (Excluding Decaf) BOGO $4.99
3. I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter! Spread: 2-pk. 7.5-oz tub, 15 or 16-oz pkg or 10-oz bot. or Spray, 8-oz bot., Assorted Varieties, BOGO $2.49
Total Before Coupons = $11.37

Coupons to be used :
Kellogs coupons :
$1.50 for 2 HERE
$1 for 1 Food Lion Coupon HERE ( ( you can use 2 of the FoodLion since it is buy 1 get 1 free)
$2 for 2 Coffee coupon HERE
75cents Butter coupon from $.75/ Family is its own reward Booklet or $1.25/1 from 06-28-09 RP (RP is redplum newspaper insert)
$3 off $10 Walgreens coupon
Total amount of coupon = $10

Total number of items purchase = 6
Total number of coupons used = 6

Total items of coupon do not exceed total number of items purchase, so I do not need a filler for this scenario. You are good to go.

Out of pocket = $1.37 for 2 pack of Kelloggs cereals, 2 packs of Coffee, 2 bottle of Butter

Without buy 1 get 1 free deals, the goods cost $3.99 x2 + 4.99 x2 + 2.49 x2 = $22.94 and you pay $1.37
Total Savings = 94% which is $21.57 out of $22.94

I think it is a great deal, don’t you think so ?

Will Publix take coupons for other store brand items (like Food Lion) to apply to purchasing Publix brand items?

So, Publix will accept those $1.00 off coupons?? If so then that’s great! I don’t drink coffee, but I love the cereal and with those coupons I will pay .48 for two boxes.

thanks for all your advice. I have been laid off for 3 months my wife is a cna at north florida. I saw you write up in the paper and am just starting to do coupons a little. I guess in some ways I’m a little dense becauses I could never see how people could save so much using coupons when store brands are usually cheaper. I am slowly beginning to see the light. Thank you and God Bless.

Sad day for me – Publix Springhill Commons store no longer takes RiteAid coupons…ah, well, it was fun while it lasted especially taking into account that we don’t have a RiteAid ANYwhere near that I’m aware of…

…but as far as I know they are still taking those lovely new Harveys store IPs (HIPS?)
