Date : 10/15/09
At Publix this week
Old El Paso Taco Seasoning Mix, @ $0.99
-.60/2 coupon HERE
Birds Eye Steamfresh Frozen Vegetables, 50% off
-$1/1; Blinkie ( I have a number of the $1 blinkie)
-$1/2 Birds Eye Steamfresh Lightly Sauced Varieties Publix Fresh, Flavorful And Frozen & More
(** cannot use the blinkie with the Publix booklet coupon or check with the store mgr or cashier)
Eight O’ Clock Coffee, BOGO @ $4.99
-$2/2 PRINT
Hillshire Farm Smoked Sausage 14 or 16-oz pkg @ $1.99
-$1/1 Link Sausage Yellow Adv Buy Flyer Fall Savings
This is what I would do :
4 coffee $9.98
10 Steam fresh (I knew it was $2.49 and with 50%, it is $1.25) = $12.50
Sausage = $1.99
2 Elpaso = 99cents
Total = $25.46
CVS $5 off $25 = $5
$4 off coffee = $4
5 x $1(coupon book) + 10x $1 (tearpad) = $15
1 $1 sausage = $1
60cents elpaso = 60cents
Total = $25.60
Profit = 14cents.
This scenario will not work out if you do not have the $1 tear pad for the bird eye steam vegetable.
** Add on :
1. Naked Juice yellow advantage 2/$5
There is a $1 IP HERE and Triathalon booklet there is a buy 2 get 1 free.
So $3 for 3 juice. I do not know if naked juice is nice or not but I read this @ IpreferPublix, check out the free items she listed.

For the vegetables, aren’t both of those coupons considered manufacturer coupons, so we can’t double up?
on the Hillshire Farm, the smoked sausage and kielbasa is rope, but the cheddarwurst is link, better deal doing the cheddarwurst with the $1/1 in the yellow adv and combine with MQ $1/2
2 cheddarwurst = 3.98
2 PQ $1/1= 2.00
1 MQ $1/2 = 1.00
.49 per pack, plus a filler item
Green thumb,
They always let me use a tear pad with a MQ. How about other experience ?
Lisa C,
Where do you find the MQ ? Did you get it from ebay ?
Typo GT, it is $3 off $15, link here : http://www.liparentonline.com/liparentmagonline.html
Page 31, use right page print.
I bought the Hillshire farm on ebay, paid $1 for 20 coupons.
If you get the rope ( smoked sausage or kielbasa with the MQ and the yellow adv, they will be $1 each pack, still not bad, but the cheddarwurst are a better deal for .49 a pack)
I also have about three of the MQ from sunday paper
Yeah, I just checked mine. Those steamfresh coupons are both manufacturer coupons, so can’t be combined. (you said “tearpad” in the bottom explanation – did you find a tearpad with Publix coupons?? I am assuming you mean the $1 manufacturer blinkies, though.)
Under $5 for all that still isn’t bad, though.
Jamy
About tear pad, some cachier let me use both other no let me used.
Jamy
The price for the Steam Fresh vegetables is $1.19..
Barb,
Last week, the hunt tomatoes, I print 50cents/2 and then some couponers must have left the blinkers there, they were $1/4 (both are manufacturer, the cashier take it, I think it all depend on who is your cashier). Some cashiers treat blinkers as non MQ, some treat it as MQ.
From grape vine, Spring Hill Publix takes expire yellow advantage flyer coupon. Have you gals try it ?
Wow, Mayra, you beat us all, so if it is $1.19, that is fantastic, that means we can have a lot of free veg.
Just imagine that, if you get like 20 of those veg, 2 coffee
20x$1.19= $23.80
2 coffee = $4.99
————-
Total = $28.79
10 of the $1 coupon = $10
20 of the blinkie = $20
CVS = $5
Coffee = $2
—————
$37
Profit = $8.21
We have to seriously setting up our co-op to sell all the free things we got
Mayra will be the CEO
:) Julie is the vise president
I didn’t get any Hillshire Farm manufacturer coupons in the flyers in my paper. Darn!
In case anyone missed it, Stacy’s bagel or pita chips are free at Publix after print out coupon & Target coupon. I also got Snuggle free today with the great 3.00 manufacturer coupon that came out recently.
Jamy
Im sorry, what mean CEO?
Mayra,
CEO = Chief Executive Officer
Someone who is very important to the company, usually the No. 1 man or woman but since Julie is running back to back with you, I think she should be given a title too, vice president, ha ha ha ha.
By the way, I double checked with the Forty East store in Ocala today, and they do not accept Food Lion or Albertson’s coupons.
Jamy
Thanks
GT,
Try different day, different cashier and see how it works.
Knowingly using two manufacturer’s coupons on the same item hoping the cashier won’t notice. I’m just not sure what to say. You come across as too sweet to be purposely unethical, I just don’t think you would be, so I’m thinking you don’t realize that it’s totally dishonest.
Barb,
Is blinkers consider as MQ or store Q ?
How about tear pad, are they manufacturer Q ?
The charcoal has a $1 tear pad on it.
I have a Food lion coupon and a printed coupon. (so can I use the tearpad ? Is tear pad manufacturer coupon ? )
I do not think I have that intent : “hoping the cashier won’t notice” because the person who bagged for me was the assistant manager.
Do you think I am frauding Publix infront of the manager ?
Are blinker and tearpad different ?
Might be you should explain to me. I assume if the manager took it, it is acceptable by their policy , no ?
Mayra was there when the manager was bagging for me. She looked in every coupon and she was ok with it.
Might be you know better and would like you to explain to me. Might be I was wrong all these times and did not know about it.
I will check with the manager the next few days about using the coupon from the booklet and the blinkie and see what he has to say and report back.
As far as I see it, if it says Manufacturers Coupon on it, it is a MQ. If it doesn’t say that and it’s found in a store booklet or flyer (such as the Green and Yellow Advantage Buy coupons) then it is a store coupon. I have always been told, by the cashiers and other coupon websites that you can only use 1 MQ and 1 Store Q per item. So that would mean that a Blinkie is a MQ, a hangtag, Peelie, and a Tearpad MQ and you should be able to use 1 of these–or any other MQ(internet printable, Red Plum or Smartsource, Sunday insert Qs)–and 1 store coupon(Publix or competitor) per item.
That said, all coupon use is YMMV,”Your Mileage May Vary,” which means that if you find a store that does take 2 MQs or something for 1 item, then it is the discretion of the Store Manager or Cashier. It is not your fault if they do this without any questions asked. Deliberately trying to sneak it past a cashier is another story. But, I’m sure most of us have never done that…
Personally, I have never been able to use more than 1 MQ and 1 store Q on a single item. Every cashier I have ever gone to has been very careful to make sure I don’t use more than this.
Green Thumb,
I was at the 40 East Publix this afternoon. We may have run into eachother! We should exchange e-mails. Mine is nicolecope77@gmail.com
In that case the $1 tear pad in the charcoal cannot be combined with the $2 MQ that we printed, right ?
Man, I have been using it all this week ! Last night, it was the manager who override it as the cashier called her to override as I have too many coupons. I also have the Hunt tomatoes blinkies (in fact, someone left them on the shelf).
So, I better take that down from my post cos if blinkie is consider MQ, then it cannot be combined.
Nicole,
You are right on this : “That said, all coupon use is YMMV,”Your Mileage May Vary,” which means that if you find a store that does take 2 MQs or something for 1 item, then it is the discretion of the Store Manager or Cashier.”
For eg, on Foodlion coupon, it stated that 1 coupon per customer, some Publix let you used more than 1 food lion coupon.
There is one time on Tyson chicken deal, I wanted to make sure if they take 1 foodlion at a time so I do not waste time to take many tyson chicken and find out they only take 1 foodlion coupon. The mgr told me I can use as many foodlion coupon as I want. So I went ahead and buy up 4 of the tyson chicken. The next day I went to another store and I asked again, the mgr said one per day. The next day I went to another store, the manager said one coupon per item but I can go back as many times as I want.
Publix is good in coupon but they are very inconsistent in term of policy, seems like most store operate differently.
Jamy
Let me Know if you receive my e-mail, and if you understand what I said.
Mayra,
Yes, I do.
I posted on the coupon swap but not sure how many people read over there. I was hoping that someone might have some duplicates of the Snuggle $3 MQ’s. I have a bunch of Steamfresh veggie coups and of course a ton of others. If anyone is looking for something particular, let me know here or email me directly at jfisenhoward@aol.com if you have the Snuggle to trade
Wow, it’s been a busy day I see. I am sure that Jamy has not been intentionally using multiple MQs in order to take advantage of Publix. I agree very much so with Nicole, basically every store, every cashier/mgr, every day even it’s different. Jamy has said multiple times for all of us to be honest when couponing so that it doesn’t effect us negatively in the long run (ie not to copy coupons, etc). I have only known Jamy a short time but I definately do not feel she is “purposely being unethical.” If Publix has accepted multiple MQs then it is their fault for accepting it, especially if the manager was the one bagging and overiding the purchase. A lot of the Publix store qs have said only 1 per transaction and yet they take multiples of those too. I did the pork deal many times last week and all but twice I bought 3 bags of charcoal at once and used 3 fl qs which said “1 print per customer”
I think the mass confusion comes from the stores being so inconsistent.
I have to say that I too get confused about some of the coupons as well. Some of the booklets that we get from Publix say manufacturere coupon, but they also say redeem only at Publix, that makes it so you cannot use it at any other store. Because of that I think of those as store coupons since Publix is the only ones that will accept them. I am not purposely trying to decieve Publix. They have accepted them that way, and as with others I have had an assistant manager look over the coupons and accepted them. As stated before if this is wrong you would think that they manager/asst manager would know it and not take the coupons.
So if they take these then are we being deceptive as well as the Publix managers too??
I have to agree with JB, each store is different, some consider these store Q’s as others consider them Manufacturer Q’s.
There is no intentional deception or unethical goings on.
Jennifer,
good luck getting any of those. I have a few but unfortunately cannot give any up. These coupons are a hot item.
Wished I could help.
can we use multiple yellow adv coupons in one transaction??
the hillshire farm- the yellow adv Q says one per person per transaction.
anyone have an answer?? or is it YMMV ??
Green Thumb,
I used my $3 Food Lion coupon on the charcoal at Publix by the Paddock Mall. I asked if they took it, and the girl only asked how much it was for and then said, yes. That one may be out of your way though.
Blinkies are manufacturers coupons. IPs are manufacturers coupons. Clipped coupons are manufacturers coupons.
Store coupons say store coupons and are just that.
While I have occasionally been able to use more than one store coupon (i.e. one FL coupon, and one Publix coupon) with a manufacturers coupon, even this is a YMMV – Publix often does take more than one store coupon per item but they don’t have to.
If they take two mfc on the same item, and redeem both of them for the same item, this is fradulent. They probably get away with it because so many people don’t buy with coupons and they sell enough of the item to be able to account for all coupons submitted for redemption. Still doesn’t make it legal use of coupon.
I’d rather stay under the radar and save my risk taking to using more than one store coupon on an item…
Laura,
Thanks for your explanation.
Sometimes certain of foodlion is manufacturer coupon, do you treat it as competitor coupon or manufacturer coupon ?
If you use a MQ on a certain product and there is a tear pad on it, are that consider MQ ?
Yup, a tearpad coupon or peelie (which is what I think you are referring to since it’s stuck on the package) is a MQ. The manufacturers send these to the store and there are workers at the store who put these up near the item or on the item. Technically, you should NOT be able to use an MQ AND a peelie, hangtag, tearpad, etc. since they are all MQs.
Jamy, I think you have a relationship with the store asst. manager/ manager that allows you to use these coupons together–you’ve stated that the manager at the Publix you usually shop at is very coupon friendly with you. As I’ve stated before, it’s not technically supposed to be done, but for some reason you’ve been able to and it’s been beneficial to you…so, I guess if it’s sanctioned by the manager, more power to you.
There is actually a lot of info at southernsavers.com about legality and the “life-cycle of a coupon” that tells how a coupon is processed after it leaves our hands.
It is interesting that the store that I went to that day I did not know the mgr. She is a young woman whom I have never seen.
There is one time I went to the store where the store mgr was very friendly to me, the cashier did not want to take a particular coupon and he could not override it.
I think it all depend on individual mgr and cashier.
At one store, one day the cashier told me the $5 off $25 is after all coupons have been applied. I said that is fine, thinking that they have changed the rule. A couple day later, I went to the same store, the cashier took it before he use the rest.
When I first started couponing, one of the Publix store is very coupon unfriendly, they do not take target, cvs and walgreens, only food lion, now this store is so friendly, the cashier told me they even take bath and beyond, my jaw nearly drop. Then I talked to the assistant mgr, he said they have changed of management, he said apparently, they change management quite often.
Likewise, one of the store used to be very coupon friendly, 2 months ago, they change their management, they become the worst. I have not stepped in for a while.
They changed their policy very often. So now I do not write which one is more friendlier than the others cos they changed, and also depend on which time of the day you go, who is on duty.
one store asst mgr told me they only give out 1 rain check a time. There is another told me I can have as many as I want. I was like !
I do not like to take advantage of mgr or casher who are friendly to me cos I do not want them to jeopodize their job because they give favor to me. One day one of my coupon buddy was told by the cashier that she would let her use it this time but not the next time. My coupon buddy said No, I do not want you to let me use this time and not the next, I want to be able to come in Publix and know I can use the same policy over and over again. So she demand to see the mgr. And turn out that my friend was right. The store mgr apology to her and said he will teach the cashier the right thing to do.
Then later she saw a few of them (man in suits) standing there and talking. She went over and asked again. They again told her she was right and that they wanted to educate the staffs.
Some store will take unlimited 1 coupon per purchase for a day foodlin coupon, some will not.
I think bottom line is Publix has a cooperate policy but individual store exercise their own discretion.
I have not read Southernsavers legality. Since you have read it, might be you can help me on this. Is PDF file legal ?
For eg. most of the foodlion coupon in Southernsaver are pdf format, are they legal to use ? I knew if you go to foodlion site, you can only print 1 per day but I think people who knew how to print coupon into pdf format, they can use the coupon over and over again. Is that legal ?
Also is the CVS $5 off $25 in pdf format legal ?
Also in HCW , the target coupon are all in pdf format, are they legal ?
If we are to be consistent in an area, we need to be in all, don’t we ?
Just curious ?
Yeah, the PDF file coupons are legal. I think that southernsavers says that PDF files are a “grey-area.” This is what it says on the site:
“PDF coupons are the enigma. The manufacturer has allowed you to print as many as you like. I would still only recommend using these in moderation. It is not Vitamin Waters plan to only give away their product for free they would like to sell a couple every now and then.”
So, anyway, I think this is consistent with what you have said on this site–that you should be using the 5/25 CVS coupons, etc. in moderation. The Target coupons usually state “1 per transaction” and this is something that would also have to be up to the Cashier’s discretion, but again, this is somewhat of a grey area. If the coupon gives instructions such as 1 per transaction, or not to be used with any other coupon, not to be doubled, etc. I will follow the instructions. I want to use coupons for deals, but not unethically. I don’t want the manufacturer to jack up prices because they are losing money on coupons.
Also, each internet printable has a code and other info on it that is about YOU–the person who printed it. It has your IP address, info about printing habits and redemption habits. This is a little known fact and kind of creepy if you think about it. Your info is floating around on every IP you use!
has anyone gotten the Hillshire farm yet?? can you use multiple Publix yellow adv flyer coupons in one transaction?
I have never knew that for the foodlion coupon, it is like once you print it, the site will tell you , you have printed the coupon for the day (at that time I did not know southersavers and iheart yet, then I realized later, wow, I can print foodlion coupon in her site again and again. Now we started this discussion, I am bringing this out cos I also don’t really know.
If you notice a lot of foodlion coupons are store coupon, not MQ, some are MQ (so if is store coupon and from their web, the store only allow you to print once, this would not apply , right ? The manufacturer has allowed you to print as many as you like.” )
The last hamburger deal, the coupon is Limit one purchase per coupon.
So my gf after she read it deeper said if we purchase 3 boxes (it is 3 purchases, so we can use 3 coupons for 3 boxes).
Now the yellow flyer, it is limit 1 coupon per purchase. So if I buy 10 of the mozzarella cheese, I can use 10 coupons.
Is that right ?
Yeah, one coupon per purchase usually means per item. I used 2 of the Mozzerella cheese coupons yesterday with no problems. FL MQ coupons would be used like any other MQ coupon–1 per item. It’s like the coupons in the yellow flyer that are MQs. They can be used only at Publix, but not in conjunction with any other MQs. Publix takes MQ coupons that are from FL, but as a MQ, not a store coupon–so if you had a different MQ that was better, you wouldn’t use the FL one.
Thanks Nicole,
How much is the mozzarella cheese. I was cleaning out my coupons and saw I have a few of the sorrento mozzarella cheese blinkies ($1) and the yellow advantage was $1 too (the blinkie is MQ, yellow is store, so that is $2, how much is sorrento cheese this week ?)
The Square Mozzerella is $2.50 (2/$5). The fresh mozzerella is not on sale. But gettting a large chunk of mozzerella for .50 is a great deal! Plus, if you do 10 of them you could use the 5/25 CVS and get it all for Free (I guess you’d have to get fillers though).
By the way, I noticed that you have been talking about a 5/15 CVS coupon…did you post this somewhere? I can’t seem to find it.
Another deal I found is Tylenol Cold medicine for $3.99 at Publix. There is an internet printable for $2 off and the Green Advantage coupon for $2 off so FREE cold medicine! This could also be sold at a yard sale too!
Nicole,
I did a typo, it is $3 off $15. Here is the link : http://www.liparentonline.com/liparentmagonline.html page 31.
So if I buy 2 cheese, 1 tyleno + 1 Organic Batter Blaster Pancake and Waffle Batter (usually 4.99 ea.) is BOGO at Publix this week and there is a $1off/1 coupon here. (reader abbi wrote in)+ 3lbs of pears (pears is 49cents a lb, my son love it)
$5 + $3.99 + $4.99 + $1.47 = $15.45
$3 off $15 cvs = $3
2 of $1 cheese yellow adv = $2
2 of $1 cheese blinkie = $2
1 of the $2 tyleno green adv = $2
1 of the $2 tyleno IP = $2
2 of the $1 pancake = $2
Total = 13
Total out of pocket = $2.45
U think I can sell the tylenol for $2 ?
BTW, do you want to join us in the book project and also the yard sales on Nov 7 ?
I know you live in Ocala, kind of hard for you but if you want, you are most welcome.
There is the local episcopal church yard sales on Nov 7th (sat), I intend to get a space, I do not mind to foot the bill for the space (it is 12ft/35ft). A few of us are going. I have a no. of the charcoal and stuffs. So if you want to drive them to join us, just come and join the fun
:)
Ooops, pancake link : http://www.batterblaster.com/downloads/coupon.pdf
Thanks Nicole for the tip on the coupon stacking for the tylenol cold medicine. This is great to stock up on this time of the year.
Jamy, I continue to be thankful fot the information and tips I learn from your sight!
Nicole,
Thanks for pointing out the Tylenol. I’ll get it on my next trip to Publix.
All,
Usually I buy my tall kitchen garbage bags at Walmart because I’ve never noticed a good deal at Publix. What deals do you watch for to get garbage bags?
Lisa Cannon-
Yes, you can use more than 1 yellow advantage buy Q for the hillshire farm sausage, or at least my cashier let me do it a couple days ago. Those links are great at 50 cents a package!
Also- just a DEAL ALERT for anyone who needs DIAPERS.
Publix brand large box on sale $15.00
There is a winn dixie Q from their ad for $5.00 off winn dixie brand diapers. If you used the 3 off 15 from CVS as well, you could get large package of diapers for $7.00! I usually buy huggies, but for $7.00 a box, I can’t complain.
Check my latest edit about naked juice.
