I am not sure what you mean about Publix coupons never expiring. They all have expiration dates clearly labeled on the coupons, do you mean in the computer system? Publix cashiers are very thorough with regard to checking expiration dates besides the fact that what you are proposing is fraudulent.

    Jessica,

There are certain Publix store that accept expire Publix store coupon, the one that is LU# ( I am not talking about manufacturer Q).

I really hope you check out the fact first before calling my proposal as fradulant !

I can tell you one of the store here locally accept expire Publix store coupon without hesitatnt (the assistant manager told me personally and ask me to bring the GM $4/4 this week). But, I let you found out yourself ! The cashier knew about it too.

Regarding Publix store coupon, it is up to individual store to determine if they take expire Publix coupon (hear me clearly here, I say Publix coupon not Manufacturer coupon).

Even with expire Manufacturer coupon, our military base take expire coupon (3months). I knew it because I sent to our base regularly.

    Katie,
Thank you so much for your hard work.
Please let me know is there anything I can help out !

  15. Jessica

It did sound like you were trying to pull one over on Publix with the way you presented it being a dare. Assistant manager asked you to bring the GM coupon back and use it again this week? Sorry have to say I have my doubts…..I’m not a newbie like a lot of the folks here. There are plenty of deals that come around, they are not so infrequent that I need to sacrifice my integrity for a few dollars. Just my opinion.

    #5553
  16. Jamy

I am surprise that as a non newbie you did not know that certain Publix take expire Publix coupon, the one that start with LU# ? It is like certain Publix accept CVS and certain Publix do not. Certain Publix accept Super Target , certain do not. I would not necessary say I pull one over on Publix.

People who have done extreme coupon for a long time knew this is a known fact ! However, it all depends on individual Publix store.

    #5554
  17. Jamy

Yes, I had 10 Pillsburry cookies rain check. I asked the assistant manager if I can use the $4/4 GM coupons with the rain check even though the GM coupon has a date that is good till 11/4. She said yes, you can use the GM coupon for next week.

    #5555
  18. Jessica

Sorry Jamy, Not the way it works. I read HCW, AFC and Slickdeals every day, you may get it by a manager now and then but no Publix as a rule accept expired store coupons, why would they?
I’m not the coupon police, but I don’t think you should be encouraging others and especially some that may be new to couponing, to attempt fraudulent transactions to save a few bucks.

    #5556
  19. Lisa C

    Katie,

I would like to get a couple of the Nilla wafer and Cool Whip coupons from you that you got off ebay.
email me at lcannon1967@yahoo.com and maybe we can work something out.

    #5557
  20. Jamy

No doubt you read HCW, AFC and slickdeal, Publix store is very regional. Most Orlando stores do not accept $5 off $25 coupon at all and no Target at all.

Here, they accept Walgreens Register Rewards, Target, Win Dixie, Kmart and once I asked one of the cashier if they accept Bath and Beyond, she said why not, we accept every store. So, are you going to argue with the cashier if she said yes, I will accept ToysRus, Bath&Beyond.

People have asked store manager, assistant manager and they said as long as it is Publix coupon and not manufacturer coupon, that is fine.

Even if you read HCW, AFC daily but Publix is so regional and each store has their own rule.

Publix rule is very vague, they said they accept competitor coupon but how they define competitor coupon is up to them. There are store who would not take Super Target because they said there is no super Target in Gainesville, there are others who take it without questions.

There are store who will not take Mother earth coupon when you buy Colgate tooth brush, or Tyleno, there are stores that take it without question.

And I can sleep well at night knowing that I am not cheating Publix using expire Publix store coupon but I have to emphasis not all Publix accept them like not all Publix accept Super Target or Mother earth coupon.

I am not sure how many of you buy the Welsh juice deal. I think it is a great deal for 50cent each.

I think it is great stock pile price.

Say you buy 10 of the juice ($2.99 for 2, bogo)
And buy 4 of the Kellogg K blue berries $3.99

    10 juice = $15
    2 kellogg = $4
    $1 fruit
    ——
    $20

    $5 off $20 = $5
    10 $1 juice = $10
    2 $1 MQ + 2 $1 Target Q for kellogg = $4
    ——
    $19

    Out of pocket = $1

Our family drink orange juice a lot but whenever I see deals like this , I will stock pile some.

Ocean spray is also good, at the moment, there is a $1 Target Q, when it goes on BOGO sales, combine with $5 off $20 Q, it is a great deal.

Though I share with you cos I have collected 10 of the Welsh juice.

  22. Jessica

Read the sign posted at the front of the store……it says We accept GROCERY competitor coupons. Please play by the rules, you are clearly exploiting the gray areas.

I’m sure yall know that the All You magazine has great coupons in it!! I bought one at Wal-Mart the other day and the magazine cost me $4 and change. 26. liz

It is one thing to use an expired coupon on purpose and hope the cashier doesn’t notice. It is another thing to have a store flat out confirm on several occasions, consistantly, and even from numerous different employees, tell me over and over that publix store coupon NEVER expire. If your store does not except- okay, but please do not state that “No Publix as a rule accepts expired publix coupons” because I know for a fact that mine does.

    #5566
  27. Jamy

    Mendy,
Today is the last day. I did not realize until last night and thought it is a good deal.

    #5567
  28. Jamy

One day while I was in the store, I wanted to make sure I was doing the right things. I saw a lady who looked like some management/administrative kind of personnel (she wore black suit and with name tag), so I approached her and showed her the expired store Revlon cosmetic Q and asked if I can use the store coupon , she said Yes. So I proceed to do my shopping.

This is not a gray area, it is an area where Publix leave it to their individual store to have their own discretion, like certain store take Walgreen register rewards or Save-A-Lot coupon.

    #5568
  29. Sara

Wow. I usually make it a point not to get involved in this stuff, but I do want say something this time.

I have actually heard (with my own ears) a local Publix store manager telling the customer in front of me (at the Customer Service desk) that their store’s policy is to take Publix coupons up to 7 days after their stated expiration date. That was, of course, only ONE Publix store’s policy. Publix trusts its managers to exercise great discretion with regard to coupon policy. Just because people don’t believe something doesn’t make it untrue. Jessica would actually have to ask the policy of each individual store manager at every Publix store in the country before her statement of “no Publix as a rule accept expired store coupons” could have even the possibility of being true.

    #5569
  30. Jamy

I actually hear from my own ears that it never expire, but only at one store.

Jessica, I sincerely hope that you do not think I am trying to teach my readers to cheat. In fact, Wordpress has a capability to screen all readers comments. I have approved all your comments and treat it as open discussion. I believe some of us might benefit from the discussion.

  31. Jamy

    Katie,

Might be in the future, you might like to write to me and I will post it so people have more time to call you…

Today I waked up after 4pm and only see your post then. However, having said that, I do know about Allyou magazine but I do not buy them. Some of my friends really like AllYou magazine.

I prefer to buy coupons from ebays or set aside 30mins in a certain day to print internet coupons which I need.

I find cutting coupons + filings very time consuming. However, having said that we all do things differently, so some prefer to cut and file.

Very good of you to do all this good work.

I was thinking the other day do you think we as a group can contribute a portion of dry food items to a certain charity ?

How many of you are thinking of giving away say 5-10% of your stock pile, eg cereals ?

I’m confused, Are you talking about the Welchs juice? because that juice are not in Bogo.

Oh my, Mayra, I bought 10 of them and did not realize it is not buy 1 get 1 free , LOL :) I am paying $2 for a bottle :)
For some reasons I thought it was buy 1 get 1 free :). Since I have collected a lot of free Publix gift card so they are free.

Made lots of overage last week.

Good news is the fruit chillers are $2.45 at my Publix not $2.75 so I will save another 30cents!!!

You all are so great, kids have been sick and I have not been doing so well. Ladies also watch out for the mail in rebates. A friend of mine just showed me some the other night. She is doing really good with these, only if you want to save a little more! I am hopeing for a really good week!

Has anyone been able to use more than one $5/20 (or coupon like that) in one transaction in the last couple days?

The reason why I’m asking is b/c a customer service person told me that “All the managers for publixs in gainesville had a meeting and they are all going to start going by the same coupon rules, including only one $5 off 20 coupon per day- not per transaction. And the coupon will only be used after all other coupons are used.”

The rules change so frequently, I never know what they are. Just wondering if you guys had any feed back. I’m still getting great deals regardless, but I’m trying to plan my trip and wonder if they really are going to enforce using that Q after all others…

Also-Don’t forget to use the $4 GM coupon on the BC frosting and yoplus (if your store accepts.)

    #5580
  41. Jessica

Just because you can do something doesn’t mean you should…… I feel there are plenty enough deals that come and go that I don’t feel the need to hassle with asking to use an expired coupon. You are also drawing attention to yourself and definitely not flying under the radar as you have suggested before. What we do does affect policies later, I have been couponing several years and have seen a big change in liberties of store coupon policies, probably because people take advantage of a good thing.

    #5581
  42. Lisa Cannon

    Katie,
I would still like coupon for Nilla wafers. I only need two though. If there are any coupons from this past weekend that you need, maybe we could trade. Email me at lcannon1967@yahoo.com to do an exchange of coupons or to just buy from you.

    #5582
  43. mendy

Has anyone found the coupon for banana’s when you buy nilla wafers? If so, which store?

    #5583
  44. Jamy

    Jessica,
Do you know it is ironic that this info was passed on to me by a friend who one day was doing her extreme coupons shopping and the cashier asked her if she knew Publix coupon does not expire. She then asked me if I knew, I said NO. I asked her which store, she told me, so I went and she was right, it seems like the cashier there seems to know it is their store policy. Then another day while I was in another store and I had not use expire coupon at that store and I had a lot of expire Publix coupon so I wanted to be sure that I am not doing something the store does not allow, so I asked. And last week about the GM product, the store run out on a particular Pillsburry cookies which I wanted to get so I went ahead and get rain check, while getting rain check, I ask the assistant supervisor that since the GM $4/4 is only for a certain date but since I am getting the rain check so when I get my rain check, can I still use the Publix’s coupon of the GM $4/4, she said yes. I do not think I am attracting attention, I think it is only wise to do that. Like I said different store does thing differently, I have a friends who the cashier told her she can use as many $5 off $25 CVS coupons and she used 10 in one transaction. She is not the one who asked but the cashier asked her if she knew that .

You know Jessica, I think we should concentrate more on posting on deals than posting ethical questions. I like my readers to be honest but I have a few readers who wrote to me personally that they would rather people send in comments on info, deals that some of us might not know than bringing up ethical issues. I have readers who write to me via email on certain info and asked me not to post because they said they do not want to be questioned, some of them are coupons that are in pdf format. They are concerned if someone will ask if that is ethical or not and that is a gray area on pdf coupon. So instead of posting in comment, they write to me personally, I honor their request and did not post in the comment part.

I thank you for your time to share your opinion and I wish you could also take time to share the deals and experiences that you have gotten, is that fair ?

    #5584
  45. Lisa C

well said Jamy, I agree wholeheartedly. We pretty much know what is right and what is wrong. If there is something that I am unsure of I ask. Every single person has their own set of ethics that they go by, I would like to think that every one is doing the right thing, but not everyone does. I don’t feel as though You (Jamy) are not giving us any false information but trying to teach us to ask about things all the time.
Jessica, if you don’t feel right in doing something then don’t do it. Or as I said before, ASK. Please don’t jump all over Jamy because you don’t believe in something she has posted. This is supposed to be a forum of friends helping each other out to get the best deals possible on grocery shopping.
I apoligize if I offend anyone, but I will stand up for Jamy and what she teaches.

    mendy-
I saw peelies for “free bananas (up to 55cents)WYB nilla wafers” in the produce section of springhill. Next to the display was also a tear pad for $1 off 1 nilla wafers. I could only find 3 peelies- looks like someone else had already gotten to them, but that was a week ago, by now, maybe there are more? Plus the tear pad is more valuable… HTH
