I hope everyone has a blessed thanksgiving. My family and I went to Orlando for a short vacation. No Publix shopping for a while.

Now I am back :)

This week starting 12/3

This is the deal I would do , though there are quite a few good ones which I have not think of the scenario but this is the one which I will do :

Scotch Magic Tape, Matte Finish, BOGO $2.00
Mr. Coffee White Coffee Makeer makes 4 cups or sunbeam 2 slice Black Toaster, $9.99

Buy 10 Scotch Tape (BOGO)= $10
Buy 1 coffee maker $9.99
Get a filler that make it to $20
————
$20

Use $5 off $20 CVS = $5
Use $5 off coffee maker from Publix Winter coupon booklet = $5
Use 10 of the $1 tape coupon from Publix Winter coupon booklet = $10
Total coupon used = $20

Free coffee maker (good Christmas present at this economy :)

Please share your scenario.

BeneVia Natural Flavored Fruit Drink, Assorted Varieties, 4 pk, 8-oz bot., $6.99
    -$5/1 from 11-14-09 SS
-$3/1 Publix Green Advantage Buy Flyer

I think this is the new Green Advantage buy Flyer that is listed since the old one expired on Nov 27th.
The above scenario, if the Green Adv Q is Publix would make this a $1 money maker

thanks for the info hopefully they will not be all gone. 10 tapes is ALOT for one person so save some for everyone who has lots of gifts to wrap.
i too went away for the holiday and i have been making up for it since i have been back. 4 days without couponing really stressed me out.:)HAHA

    @Lisa

Jamy, that is a good pic :) and a good idea.
Jennifer, if you go to iheartpublix.com they have a link to a printable Q for $5 Benevia

It is under the Health & Beauty section towards the bottom. It is a regular sale item, not a BOGO, there is a link where you register and print a coupon for $5

I’m thinking that the Revlon coupons could be a money maker as well. There is the Publix Q for $2.50 and there are MQ $1/1 for tool and $2/1 for cosmetics, so that would be a total of $3.50/1 for tool or $4.50/1 for cosmetics.

Yes, Jennifer, 10 tapes are a lot. I hope you guys can come up with other stuffs to make use of the $5 off $20. I can only think of that last night, but I am sure there are more.

Green thumb, I knew you did not have the Winter coupon booklet. I cannot remember when but I think it was last week I went to the store and I found there were a lot so I picked up 4 for you. Let me know your address, I will send them to you.

Also kevin, if you read this, please email me your address, I got the $10 Publix gift card, ready to send out to you.

We don’t know what size tape Publix has on sale, but a better deal might be to bring the Walgreens in ad coupon for scotch tape BOGO 1.79 & use the manufacturers coupons for a money maker.
For those who don’t have 10 scotch tape coupons, print 2 of the 1.50 cookie dough coupons to get free cookie dough included in your deal.

I bought the tape today and it was $2.49 BOGO, not $2. Still a good deal, though!

@Nicole–The gift wrap tape is on sale this week, but the matte tape starts with the next sale on 12/3.

Jamy, what CVS q are you using? Has anyone else been getting a hard time with the cashiers with the cvs q’s? One told me that they would no longer accept them, and another (different day, different Publix) told me that they would if they were printed in color.

    #5724
  13. Nicole

Hahaha! I just figured that out…thanks Kelly!

Kelly, yeah, I’ve gotten that about the CVS coupons, too.

Hunter’s Crossing told me this weekend (and my mom who went the same store but different time) they wouldn’t take printed B&W CVS coups any longer (I took it to mean they would now only take the “real”, out of a newspaper type).

  15. Jamy

I always miss up about Hunter & Millhopper, which one is Hunter crossing ?

Did you guys go at the same time ?

Mayra, if you read this post, let us know if they still let you use CVS coupons ?

    Thanks

Hunter’s Crossing is at 43rd St and 53rd Ave, Millhopper is at 43rd St and 16th Ave.

I just returned from a trip to the Springhill Commons store. They no longer take expired Publix q’s, and I had some that I wanted to use today. I have had several employees at that store tell me that “Publix coupons never expire,” but that is apparently no longer the case. It seems as if they are limiting the stores that see as competitors too. Has anyone been able to use a Walgreens q (from their weekly ad–not internet-printed) at a Publix lately?

Sorry just saw your message now, Hunter Crossing accept CVS coupon but one per day.

SC has posted ‘rules’ by each register. They are easy to read if you want but boy, they are a bummer! No expired Publix coupons. Only one
competitor coupon allowed (so no more multiple uses of Target coupon or FL coupons in one transaction). Worst of all IMO is that they will only let you use the $/$$ coupons from a competitor BEFORE coupons (YIKES!).

Hunters Crossing was still taking CVS or SAL
$/$$ coupons last wednesday but sounds like this may have changed if they aren’t taking any IP type $/$$ coupons. Double YIKES. On the plus side however, is that they took the $/$$ coupons before the rest of my coupons. They, too, would not take an expired Publix coupon I tried to use…

I was out of town unexpectedly last week and wasn’t able to use coupons I’d bought - arrrrrgghh. And this week looks like one I can easily skip - I think I’m going to enjoy the break and try to make some Christmas presents with the extra time.

The rules will make deals a little harder to come by but will sure give my aching brain a break LOL.

Mayra, It was a pleasure meeting you this morning. I enjoyed our conversation. I wanted to let you know that I had no problem using multiple store coupons on the item we discussed. I used the overage to buy the coffee maker! Maybe I’ll see you again some time, I’ll be looking around for you on my shopping trips.

Here’s another good deal. If anyone is running low on cereal yet. Food Lion has Kellogs cereal for $1.99 there is a Target coupon that is actually a Manufacturer coupon for $5/4 boxes http://offers.e-centives.com/mcp/pd.cfm?encp=bw3Edh8NsU3vzmfu%2BCqxk1gE5kAdfbx6dC45DH8m6FuvNQDwYVl3xOH31DkRj79yzb%2BSNmiA403U%0D%0Ak0Vud5AkAA%3D%3D , so you can get 4 boxes of cereal for $2.96.

Hunter’s Crossing wouldn’t let me use the BP card coupon last week because my total AFTER coupons wasn’t $25 (my total before was definitely over $25!). Even though the wording says nothing about after coupons. Sounds like they’re just toughening up all around.

Jamy, my Mom went at a totally different time, different cashier, and was told the same thing about the CVS coupon. But two days later a friend went and said they gave her no trouble over it.

Anyone else think they’re a little tougher on coupons on the weekends? Or is it just my imagination?

    #5735
  23. Brandi

    Carol,

I live in Ocala, but I was able to use the BP gas card coupon for my purchase before coupons. I was thinking that they would probably make it be after the coupons; but to my (pleasant surprise), the cashier asked me “would you like another BP gas card because your subtotal was more than $50?” I accepted, of course! And I went home with groceries for myself and my two kids for two weeks, plus $100 in gas cards for $120.73. I was SO happy!

  24. Carol

Yeah, Brandi, the clamp-down is happening here in Gainesville. Usually things like that are before coupons unless it states otherwise. They were very open to accepting lots of things at our stores for a very long time, but in the last few weeks they’ve decided to tighten up their policies, and now those of us who shop in Gainesville are trying to get a handle on these new rules!

This might be a personal best for me.

    4 Hot Wheels cars
4 boxes of Kim & Scott Stuffed Pretzels
    6 packs of Scotch tape
2 packs of Nestle cookie dough
    Swanson beef broth
    1 onion.

    Total OOP: 27 cents

I save more money in a week grocery shopping than I would make in a part time job :-)

Where are you all finding the $1 hot wheel cars? I’ve been in several stores and can only find $4 hot wheels???

I found a rack that was almost empty at the 13th St Publix and got 4 of the last 5 that I knew my son would like for Christmas. They are in different places in different stores. One store I went to had a rack of them around the corner of the bathrooms (at the back of the store). It just varies. I asked one of the guys stocking if they had any and he was able to take me right to them. Hope this helps.

I am having trouble getting the Kim and Scotts pretzel coupon. It will NOT download on my home computer or my husbands office computer??? I understand that it is a pdf. coupon. Any suggestions for me? I have two coupons from the winter savings booklet that I would be happy to trade someone for two pdf. coupons. I am in the Millhopper area.

  29. Hmm Guess I’ve been lucky I have had no problems at any of the stores I go to with the coupons except of course only using 1 competitor per item per transaction but I thought that would be coming soon. It could be that since they recently had a big meeting and changed the rules (1 competitor coupon and 1 $/$$ per day) that some of the cashiers are confused as to what they are supposed to do now. It might work itself out. Then again you will always run into cashiers that think competitor coupons are ripping publix off (even though it is publix policy to accept them) and do whatever they can to discourage it. Just a thought. Any way I’m sure the rules will change again down the line either for better or worse. Everything is only temporary don’t get discouraged and just look for the best deals you can.

I’m not sure I understand how you did your math to get 4 boxes for $2.96. Please explain?

    #5745
  31. Lisa C

    cereal is on sale for $1.99 x 4 = $7.96 minus coupon $5/4 = $2.96 for 4 boxes.
although I tried this at my foodlion in alachua and they would not accept it because it had Target on it, even though I argued it was still a manufacturer.
Not sure if the FL in Gainesville will accept.

Not sure if the FL in Gainesville will accept. Other option is to take FL ad to Target and see if they will price match.

  33. OOps duh i thought you were talking about publix and using some combo of the Target coupon and food lion coupon.
