This year one of my goals is to spend more time with my son.
I had for the past number of years trying to establish myself after moving to the states.
Not long after I had my son, I resigned from my job and started nursing school. It was my husband who took care of our son than me because of the demands of schools. After I graduated and gotten my license, I started work immediately with one of the local hospitals.
My 1st year of nursing was pretty challenging, however, over the past 18months, I have settled pretty well at my work place. I felt that it’s about time for me to give my son more of my time.
My son JJ (John Junior) is a bright boy. He started to read when he was about 2 1/2 years old and started piano lesson when he was about 30months.
This year beside extreme coupon, I am dedicating one portion of my blog for my son.
I will write about his reading list, the games he play and the places we travel. I hope you will enjoy my new adventure.
I have a wonderful friend, Shelli, who has a wonderful blog about the books her children read : A Kiss Goodnight
I decided to follow her list for my son reading.
Shelli has recommended me to start him (JJ) on Magic Tree House Series

Great idea Jamy! My church friend introduced James to this series last month and he’s read some. Another place with good book recommendations is http://www.amblesideonline.org. Where they use living books to teach their kids. Some of them are so hard for the age levels. They don’t use the abridged versions!
Grace,
Thanks for your recommendation.
Does James like the series ?
First JJ does not like the word “Magic”, he thinks it is bad but later he like it
I intend to ask him to write a book review (short one, a few paragraphs) for the book he has read. Might be a short review. I will keep this like a journal for him
What is living books ?
What is abridged versions ?
Sorry for the dumb questions.
Jamy, That is great. My oldest son(9) absolutely loves Magic Tree House books! He LOVES to read! Thank God! My 6 year old is not as addicted to reading, but he loves to be read to
Even I enjoyed the Magic Tree House book we read aloud.
ok, what IS a living book?
