Coupon organizaton queen : Mayra
Date : 1/22/10
Today I met Mayra @ Hunter Crossing Publix and I asked her if we could chat some because I have not hear from her for a while.
So we sat around and chatted for a while. I was very impressed with her coupon organization skill.
How do you organize yours ?
This is how Mayra does her…
1. Her bag that full of gold (I am just joking, I mean coupons
)…
2. Different categories…
3. Very well organised …
4. And here is our Mayra…
Mayra spend average of $30 per month for a family of 6.
If you have times , share about how you organize your coupons…
Thanks….

I recently started using the same system as Mayra. I used to organize them in envelopes & only brought 1 envelope to the store with the specific coupons I plan to use, but over the holidays I had a Publix gift card in the envelope with approximately $75 on it & lost it while I was shopping. I decided that was an expensive lesson & I needed to use the binder system that I’ve seen others use. By the way, a fantastic manager at Publix was able to use the gift card number from a previous receipt to cancel the lost gift card & replace it. I love my Publix!
I wish I had the time to clip the coupons and organize them like that, but I have found that I just don’t. I keep all of my coupons in a binder, but in sheet protectors organized by the date of the insert. That way, when I’m planning my shopping list, I only have to clip the ones that I plan to use. I spend more time planning my trip, than I do anything else, but I find that it works best for me that way.
GT,
Sounds like your publix is great. Here in Gainesville, it all depends on cashier
I think I am going to something similar to Mayra, I do not think I will be as organized as her but I will have a bag like that where I can keep all my coupons in one bag and carry them when I go shopping.
Jennifer,
I was thinking of getting the zip log bag (bigger ones) and punch holes and put coupons in it.
There is no way I can be get all those coupons in those baseball folder (I took one from Mayra cos I wanted to use as an example to go to WM and get some and I promised Mayra, I will give back to her, she then told me if I don’t , she will advertise me on ‘Wanted’ list, say about good friend, eh ?
I think I have come to a point that I am so unorganize with my coupons that it is not cost effective for me.
I always look at how much I save versus how much I earn.
I think we all have different life style and what works with us might not work with the others and I think we should stick to one that fit us most, right ?
sports card holders work great – but I don’t have such a nice zippered binder as Mayra – just a plain black (but rree) 3″ binder. It works fairly well. The pockets on the front and back covers are a bit stretched out from use and sometimes if I put too much stuff in them I’ve had it fall out if the binder gets bumped in the cart…..but all in all, this is the method for me!
oops, that should be FREE not rree ….
Has anyone found a new CVS $5 coupon? Thank you!
GT
Not at the moment, when I find one, I will let u know.
For me, the best way is to keep all Q inserts in a file folder by date. Then I clip only the ones I need from seeing Q match ups from sources such as southernsavers. I also have some files for miscellanous such as tearpad, blinkie, advantage buy flyers- ect.
I clipped all Q’s in the beginning, but then found it too time consuming.
Mayra’s way of clipping is especially good for when you find deals on your own or clearence items that websites do not meantion, but it’s not for me.
Me too liz. I do not think I have the time to clip and file as neat as her.
I like to buy Q from ebay on a bulk basic.
For eg. the toilet paper @ Albie recently, I got 10 from ebay and then when it arrive, I go to Albie and got 10 for free.
I find it much easier like that. Too much work for me on clipping.
