		<description>Grace,
I like the power spelling book for its very unconventional system.

This is a conventional way of learning spelling.

1. You are given a list of words to learn to spell.
2. You go home and recite the word, put then in your brain and the next day or next week, you have your spelling test.

This Spelling Power system is very unconventional.

1. Your test your child on the system they have to find out the level of your child spelling ability.

They ranges from Level A to Level...
My child has a spelling grade of 6, that is level F according to the book.

Then in Level F, there are like 50 series of words.

Each series there are about 30 words.

This is the very unique part which I love.

1. When you test your kid on a series of words on the level they are at, the child is not given the word to learn.

2. You read the word to him/her and he/she read it back to you and then you write the word.

3. You stopped the test when he got 3 words wrong .

4. Then you correct him right then.
   They system want them to

1st read the word he/she got it wrong
2nd write the word he/she got it wrong
    3rd memorize in the head
4th read and trace the word
5th make a sentence using the words.

The child will never forget the word ever again in their life.

Every word they learn is not learn the night before or the week before. It is either a new word he/she never see or a word he/she knew it before.

I love the unconventional system so much.

Within the last 2 months, we have learned more than 500 words

30x2 = 60 days - 8 Sundays = 52 days
15 words a day, that is ~ 550 words

If we continue to do it, by his 10 birthday we would have done more than 5000 commonly used English words, isn&#039;t that wonderful ?

Well, if he continue the way he is learning, I won&#039;t be surprise he can finish all high school learning material by 14 years old.

		<description>Dear Jamy,
What a great story. You are a real inspiration to me yourself, having just come from so far away. It is so funny that I am looking into improving my son&#039;s (second one) spelling because he is reading better than he can spell. I have been looking so long for spelling worksheets online but found nothing. I will look up your friend&#039;s blog and see what else she uses.
