Near Free Milk – Stock pile item

By Jamy

Date : 6/23/10

This coming Thursday (6/25/10) @ Publix, Smart Balance milk is going to be Buy 1 Get 1 free @ $3.49 .
smartbalance

There is a $1.50 coupon. I bought 20 of the $1.50 coupon for $1 and paid 65cents for shipping cost.

With this coupon, 20 of the 1/2 gal milk would cost me

10x$3.49 (buy 1 get free) – 20x$1.50 coupon = $4.90

Coupon cost me $1.65

Total for 20 pack of 1/2 gal of milk = $6.55 (which is 30cents a pack)

That to me is a great stock pile price.
My boy loves smart balance because he think if he drinks smart balance milk, he is going to be smart :) and he loves the chocolate favor the most.

Does milk freeze well ?
It sure does.

A trick about freezing milk, pour out a small cup of the milk so the cartoon of milk will not be over expand when freeze. De-froze milk taste as good as fresh milk.

The 20 packs of 1/2 gal milk will last me for a while.

** My strategy about couponing is more of stock pile (batch buy). I appreciate the benefit of stock pile during our move from our old home to our new home. I was able to live on my stock pike for a while, especially cereals, ragu sauce, soup etc…

    Very good Mayra.

Did you get the Smart Saving Booklets ?
I saw the Energizer battery $2 and this week there is a $3 ad coupon, so that make battery a good buy or free but I did not see anyone talk about it ?
Did you guys get any Smart SAving booklet, I saw lots in the store yesterday. I got a few of them.

    Mayra,
I think because the Smart Saving Booklet just come out recently.

But I was thinking the $3 and $2 make the batter very cheap or free or even money making.

    Going to get some tonight.

U know Mendy, I should really get this blog going :)
Due to my move (I sold my old home and we have accumulated so many stuffs over the span of 9yrs and I never hold any yard sales the last 9 yrs except the yard sales my neighbor hold which I gave her the coupon stuffs that I have but never hold one to sell my used stuff, my gosh, it took me like 5weeks to sort, thrash and move to the new home. I work full time @ the hospital and part home school my boy so time is so limited so I kind of gave up coupon for a few months :) but we are slowly getting on our routine now, things all moved and settled but of course it is never ending with house , right so now I am back) and on Tuesday after dropping my son to the piano class, I went to University Avenue’s Publix, I saw a bunch of Smart Saving Booklet (after one do Publix coupon for a couple of yrs, the deals are almost the same every year even the booklet they are almost the same throughout the year. When I saw the $2 coupon in the Smart SAving book, I remembered there’s a $3 coupon in the weekly ad so I went a bought a few packs of battery, they are really cheap so are even free. (energy max).

Then I look around the blogworld, no body blog about it, I think the reason is that the Smart Saving book just came out and people who blog have written their post last week.

So I think it is good for us to keep in touch when we see deals that is local in Gainesville.

I think when I went to University Avenue, the booklet was just out. They were so many of them.

By the time I blogged about it and Mayra said she saw it at Hunter Crossing, when I went to HC yesterday evening, there were 2 left.

What did you get recently, are you still active ?

Jamy, Most recently I purchased the vanish drop in’s because I had bogo man Q to stack with bogo target Q. I also bought Tony’s frozen pizza’s for .50 each! Very cheap eggo waffles and bailey’s creamer. I also got the free blueberries with the publix Q. I must say that I am still learning but having a lot of fun with couponing. I’ve missed your blog and I am happy to see you active again! I have run into Mayra at Publix and CVS many times and now I tend to think of her as a friend…she is a very smart couponer! I have been following Lisa’s Gainesville blog lately too.

U know Mendy, I should really hold a coupon meeting at my new home on Saturday afternoon when all of you are available.

I am sooooooooooooooooooooo happy to bump into Lisa yesterday and so happy she has a new blog going now. She gave me a few of the eggo coupon.

    I miss Mayra too.

I have been so busy with our home and also work is busy but I wanted to get back to blogging and coupon as soon as I can.

    Jamy,
Happy to see you posting again!
I never have purchased coupons, but seem to do well with my Sunday paper & printing online coupons. Many examples I see on the various blogs won’t work for me because the prices frequently are much higher here in Central FL…I’m referring mostly to over the counter medication deals from the green flyer.
I’m looking forward to Jamy & Mayra posting deals again!!

In the Alberstons Ad I saw the batteries for
$1.00 and in the S/S 6/20 there is a coupon for
$1.00, I do not know if they are good batteries but they are free!!!

I think you are referring to the Rayovac batteries. They do not last very long, definitely not as good as Energizer, but for free who can complain. Target usually has Rayovac batteries in the dollar section, so with a coupon they are free (just pay tax).

    GT,
    Thanks for the welcome back.
I know this sounds very strange. Even though I do not meet many of you guys in person (except Mayra, Lisa and Tracey) but over the conversations on this blog, I feel like you guys are my friends. (My blog does not have too many readers so it is kind of more personal). I do miss all of your conversations and inputs.

I think we all do coupon that suit our personal life style.

I like buying coupons than cutting or printing coupons because I am not too good in organizing them like Mayra.

I like to do things in batch.

I work Mon and Tue night and Sat/Sun and the other week it would be Thu/Fri. My son is still young, he needs me on many things and he has piano class, Taekwondo class and when Fall comes another event , soccer :) . He goes to a school where they offer part time home schooling and that takes up some of my times.

I decided that this year I am going to change my coupon habit.

I am going to list a list of house hold products which I wanted to stock pile.

    eg. Household
hand soap, liquid detergent, toilet paper, laundry detergent, dish washing detergent , man shaver (might get ride of it and get an electric razor for my hubby), shampoo etc…

    Food
Cereals, oatmeal, milk, oil, rice etc.

    Veg
I am thinking of bartering vegetables with someone for household products (I have a lot of friends who are starting square foot garden, if you know someone who want to barter stuffs like toilet paper, shampoo ?)
There are so much talk about organic food among people I knew. I am thinking of not buying frozen veg. And having work in health care line made me also wonder the benefit of organic veg ?

    Meat
I wanted to find a place where I can bulk buy meat. Lisa send me a link on Buffalo meat from South Dakorta but shipping is too expensive as far as I am concern. Need to let Lisa know that.
One of my nurse friend who is also a couponer told me a store in our area, I need to check it out. I also need to check out University of Florida vet dept as they sell meat too.

I wanted to ask if anyone knew any toilet paper deal ? (I still have a lot of tp, asking that on behalf of my friend).

    I like your plan.

LOL! I just paid full price minus .50 coupon for toilet paper. I need a deal too.

Also, I like to bake and had to pay full price for butter last week. Land O Lakes is on sale this week but I haven’t found any coupons or the rebate. Has anyone spotted the try me free rebate for LOL butter?
