I could not shop without coupons.

The other day I was talking to one of my girlfriends that I have stopped couponing a few weeks now because I am very busy at work and also home end. She said that’s the reason why she does not want to do couponing because it takes up too much of her times.

I agree with her that couponing took up a lot of times, it is like a job in itself but if only she has the mind of a millionaire, she would understand that couponing is a form of investment.

Why do I say that ?

1. Couponing is like free money that is floating around for you to pick up. Nothing is free in this world, except the Gospel. Of course with the free floating money, it takes time , effort and energy from your part.

2. Couponing is like another career. We all spend money and time to invest in a career. We spend money and time to go to school and college/university to get a degree for a particular career we have in mind. Then we spend time and money to invest in our career. Likewise, couponing is like any career, it involves time and money.

You coupon
Say you spend 12hours a week, cutting/printing coupons, compile and verify items that you want to stock pile.
And say this effort save you $100 a week, over a span of a years (52weeks), you are saving $100×52=$5200 a year.

You work 1 extra day (overtime)
Say you earn $20 an hour and you put in one extra day of 12hour a week, you get $20×12x52=$12,480 a year , with tax, you net take home might be ~ $10,000

3. With the amount of money you save, you can use it to invest. Couponing is a 2 edge sword.

This is what I pay for tonight : $10.54, for all these !
